This Privacy Policy applies to the PromptNest browser extension ("the Extension").

## 1. Data Collection and Use
The Extension does not collect, upload, sell, or share any personal data.  
The Extension only uses browser storage locally to save user-created prompts and settings.

## 2. Local Storage and Sync
The Extension uses browser-provided storage to save the following local data:
- User-created or edited prompt content
- Preferences such as categories, tags, pin status, and usage counts

If the user enables the browser's built-in sync feature, the above data may be synced across the user's devices. The sync process is handled by the browser itself; the Extension does not transmit any data.

## 3. Permissions
The permissions requested by the Extension are used only to deliver core functionality:
- storage: store user prompts and settings
- sidePanel: display and manage prompts in the side panel
- tabs: identify the active tab to insert prompts into the current page
- scripting: inject a script into the active page when the user triggers insertion
- Host permissions: allow insertion on user-selected pages only when triggered by the user

## 4. Data Sharing
The Extension does not share data with any third parties and does not use any third-party analytics or tracking services.

## 5. Data Security
All data is stored locally in the user's browser and is not sent by the Extension to any server.

## 6. Children's Privacy
The Extension does not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

## 7. Policy Updates
If this Privacy Policy changes, the updated version will be published with a new release.
